Eastern FCCLA joined more than 7,500 FCCLA student leaders, members, and advisers at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA June 28 – July 2 to participate in the annual FCCLA National Leadership Conference.

The conference provided Eastern students opportunities to come together for energizing learning while listening to inspiring speakers, expanding leadership skills, sharpening talents, and exploring career pathways. The theme of this year’s conference was “Inspired by FCCLA”, which inspired attendees to make the right choices and commit themselves to making a positive impact within their families, schools, FCCLA, and communities.

While at the National Leadership Conference, fourteen members of the Eastern FCCLA chapter competed in STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) Events. These events support foundational, leadership, and workplace skills. Competing with over 4,500 STAR Event participants in Atlanta, Eastern FCCLA members received the following awards:

Environmental Ambassador – Mary Pollitt (silver medal)

Jr. Parliamentary Procedure Team – Megan Baker, Jalyn Burton, Seth Graham, Jenna Puckett, and Caitlyn Wills (gold medal; 1st place in division and 3rd place overall of 51 teams competing)

Sr. Parliamentary Procedure Team – Joel Graham, Caterina Rockey, Maria Rockey, Nate Simpson, and Makenzie Strole (silver medal)

Promote and Publicize FCCLA – Tiffany Comberger and Abigail Gillespie (gold medal; 5th place in division)

Teach and Train – Jessika Burton (silver medal)

Additional Eastern FCCLA members attending the National Leadership Conference included Dalton Hiser and Natalie Hopper who participated in the Leadership Academy.
