Five people were recently sentenced in Brown County Common Pleas Court.
Thomas Spurlock
On May 19, a 3 Count indictment was filed against Thomas Spurlock, in Case No. 2016-2113.
The indictment charged Count 1, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the 4th degree, Count 2, Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs, a felony of the 2nd degree and Count 3, Endangering Children, a felony of the 3rd degree.
On July 8, Defendant entered a plea of guilty to Count 2 before Brown County Common Pleas Judge Scott T. Gusweiler.
On that same date Judge Gusweiler sentenced Mr. Spurlock to a mandatory 3 years in the Ohio Department of Corrections and a Driver’s License Suspension for 12 months. Counts 1 & 3 are dismissed.
Diana Herzner
On March 25, a 1 Count indictment was filed against Diana Nicole Herzner, in Case No. 2016-2077.
The indictment charged Count 1, Theft, a felony of the 5th degree. On June 23, 2016, Defendant entered a plea of guilty to Count 1 before Brown County Common Pleas Judge Scott T. Gusweiler.
On that same date, Judge Gusweiler sentenced Ms. Herzner to 2 years of community control sanctions and restitution.
James Lawson
On June 2, a 3 Count indictment was filed against James Lawson, in Case No. 2016-2125.
The indictment charged Count 1, Theft, and Count 2, Forgery, both felonies of the 5th degree and Count 3, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the 4th degree.
On July 8, Defendant entered a plea of guilty to Count 1 before Brown County Common Pleas Judge Scott T. Gusweiler.
On that same date, Judge Gusweiler sentenced Mr. Lawson to 1 year of community control sanctions. Counts 2 & 3 are dismissed.
Robin Weeks
On June 2, a 2 Count indictment was filed against Robin G. Weeks, in Case No. 2016-2126.
The indictment charged Counts 1 & 2, Felonious Assault, a felony of the 2nd degree, On July 8, 2016, Defendant entered a plea of guilty to Count 2 before Brown County Common Pleas Judge Scott T. Gusweiler.
On that same date Judge Gusweiler sentenced Ms. Weeks to 3 years in the Ohio Department of Corrections. The defendant should be evaluated for mental health issues and should participate in the TAPESTRY Program. Count 1 is dismissed.
Brandon Woods
On May 5, a 4 Count indictment was filed against Brandon F. Woods, in Case No. 2016-2094.
The indictment charged Count 1, Possession of Heroin, a felony of the 5th degree and a $2500.00 fine, Count 2, Tampering with Evidence, a felony of the 3rd degree and Counts 3 & 4, Endangering Children, M-1.
On July 8, Defendant entered a plea of guilty to Counts 1 & 3 before Brown County Common Pleas Judge Scott T. Gusweiler.
On that same date Judge Gusweiler sentenced Mr. Woods to 2 years of community control sanctions, intensive probation upon completion of STAR Program plus any Aftercare, that can include Transitional Living, a 12 month driver’s license suspension with limited privileges and 180 days in the Brown County Adult Detention Center, 163 which are suspended, with credit for 17 days previously served. Counts 2 & 4 are dismissed.
