The Fayetteville Police Department issued the folllowing press release to The Brown County Press on June 14.

“The Brown County Grand Jury handed down a three (3) count indictment for Timothy Raymond Schmidt (34 years of age) of Cincinnati for one (1) Rape involving a minor and two (2) counts of Gross Sexual Imposition involving a minor.

Fayetteville Police Investigators conducted a six (6) month investigation that led to the indictments.  During the course of the investigation Mr. Schmidt was believed to be involved in online chatting with juveniles in Idaho where he exchanged photographs of himself and the juvenile victims.  The Fayetteville Police along with the Department of Homeland Security served a search warrant on May 19th and seized electronic devices and are currently being processed for potential evidence.

The Fayetteville Police Department believes there are more victims and urges anyone that has had contact with Timothy Schmidt to contact the Fayetteville Police Department or the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office.  Timothy Schmidt has lived all over the tristate area to include: Fayetteville, Anderson Township, Dayton area, Lockland and Lebanon.
