The 166th Brown County Fair will begin Sept. 25. The theme for the fair this year is “The Heart of it All”.
As has been the tradition for many years, the fair will begin with a parade from the high school in Georgetown to the fairgrounds. The parade will be one of the largest in southern Ohio with about 120 entries.
The fair will run through Saturday, Sept. 30 and the familiar schedule of events has returned.
Highlights will include the fair queen and king contest following the parade at 8:00 p.m. in the Danny Gray Activity Center. 14 young women and seven young men from junior fair organizations will compete for the honor of representing the fair for the next year.
On Tuesday, Sept. 26, musical artists Chris Higbee and Neal McCoy will entertain fair goers in the Main Ring.
Wednesday, Sept. 27, will see the cheerleading competiton at 5:00 p.m. in the Main Ring and the Championship Truck and Tractor Pull in the Tractor Pull Area at 7:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Sept. 28, Senior Citizens Recognition will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Danny Gray Activity Center. That evening at 6:00 p.m. the POW-MIA Memorial Service and veterans recognition night will take place in the Main Ring. Also that evening, the first round of the Brown County Fair Talent Show will begin in the Danny Gray Activity Center at 7:00 p.m.
The Championship Truck and Tractor Pull returns to the Tractor Pull Area on Friday, Sept. 29. The Open Horse Show will also take place that evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Ring.
On Saturday, Sept. 30, the final round of the Brown County Fair Talent Show will take place at the Danny Gray Activity Center at 6:00 p.m.
