The Home Place celebrates Spring

By Martha B. Jacob –

The Home Place in Georgetown is growing again with the addition of new office space and more employees.
“Here at the Home Place, we are celebrating the Spring,” said owner Delbert Schlabach. “We wanted to have something for our customers this year, something more than just an open house. We really want to show people how much we all appreciate their business.”
He continued, “We’ve been here at this location for nearly 12 years now and we have a lot to celebrate. We used to take part in the Home and Garden Show in Cincinnati, but this year we decided to have our own home and garden show and pass on the savings to our faithful customers.”
Schlabach said that he really wants to say thank you and really treat his regular customers with lower prices on our beautiful hand-crafter Amish furniture, everything will be marked to special prices for the event.
“Our patio furniture and other outside merchandise will be on sale as well as our storage and mini-barns,” Schlabach said. “Our first arrival of hanging baskets are also going to be on sale for this event which will run from now through the next two weekends, right up to the Saturday before Mothers Day, May 12. We decided to have two weekends of specials. So if anyone has been putting off buying something from the Home Place, the next two weekends is the time to shop with us.”
Schlabach said the event will include all kinds of cookout foods like wings, pulled pork sandwiches, ribs and brisket sandwiches all done in his new huge smoker. The smoker can hold up to 400 pounds of meat.
“We are excited to now being offered a new bologna sandwich, which is unlike anything you’ve ever tasted,” Schlabach said. “Here’s what we do, we smoke our bologna for several hours and season it, then we pan-fry it. Truly a great sandwich. I invite everyone in to try one.”
Schlabach said that the Home Place is now running better than ever with the addition of six new managers who handle their own departments, including an outside sales manager.
“I now have 24 employees on staff,” he said. “Not all of them work full-time, but they are all hard workers.
“I am excited about this upcoming sale and I feel happy to be able to give back to my community. That’s why we decided to extend this summer sale. So we want to invite everyone out to join us and take part in this fun event.”
