It is with great sadness that the family of Myrna Jean (Creamer) Smith announce her passing on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the age of 85. She will be lovingly remembered by all of those who were touched by her life. She was born to James Frances and Iola Mae (Burr) Creamer on November 12, 1939. She is survived by her mother, Iola (Burr) Creamer (age 105) of Jamestown, Ohio; her husband of 64 years, Ronald Smith of Mount Orab, Ohio; children Mark Smith (Bridget) North Carolina and Anita Mayes (Keith) of Jamestown, Ohio; her grandchildren,
Savannah (Blake) Thompson of North Carolina, Samuel (Jenn) Smith of Florida, Sutton Smith of Illinois, Selah Smith of Wisconsin and Shaylee Smith of Arizona; Thomas (Jessica) Mayes of Georgetown, Ohio and Andrew (Kari) Mayes of Jamestown, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Delaney, Piper, Jocelyn, Grant and William Thompson of North Carolina; Gianna Smith of Florida; Lorelei, Henry, Adeline and Frederick Mayes of Georgetown, Ohio; Kennedy, Amelia, Ryker and Hendrix Mayes of Jamestown, Ohio. She is also survived by her siblings, Frances (Tim) Kipp of Xenia, Ohio, Mary (Mike) Dye of Washington C.H., Ohio, Betheen (Ken) Streuwing of Yellow Springs, Ohio, David (Sandy) Creamer of Cedarville, Ohio and Lisa (Robert) Robinson of Washington C.H., Ohio as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Myrna graduated from Jefferson High School in Bowersville, Ohio and went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She worked as a registered dietician in many health settings throughout the state of Ohio, spending the majority of her career at the Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus. Myrna had the heart of a servant and spent her life caring for her family, her patients, her church family and any others who crossed her path.
Her faith was of the utmost importance to her and she shared it willingly with all. At the time of her passing, she was an active member of the Highway 32 Church of Christ in Williamsburg, Ohio. Teaching children about faith in God was her greatest mission and she supported that by teaching her children and grandchildren, teaching Sunday School, and working at Fort Hill Christian Youth Camp in Hillsboro, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time in God’s beautiful creation, whether it be tending to her flowers, feeding the birds, or preserving the food with which God blessed her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19 at the Xenia Church of Christ, 444 Country Club Dr., Xenia Ohio at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Fort Hill Christian Youth Camp, 13500 Fort Hill Rd., Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
