George W. Baker Sr, age 84, of Mt. Orab, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Jewish Hospital. He was born May 12, 1941 in Somerset, KY, to the late Virgil and Anna (Lowery) Baker. He was a press operator and a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam era.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rita Woodall Baker in 2016; sisters, Martha Williamson and Marjorie Phelps.
George is survived by son, George Baker Jr and wife Brandy of Lake Waynoka; grandson, Brendan Baker; sister, Mary Lowery of Somerset, KY; special nieces and nephews, Janell Edwards, Judy Baugh and Gary Williamson as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Meeker Funeral Home in Russellville. David Benjamin will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to the service. Cremation will follow.
