Naomi McKee, age 78, of Ripley, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at her residence. She was born July 31, 1947 in Bourbon County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Louise McMillian (DeVaughn) Rison. Naomi was a beloved member of her community, whose dedication and warmth touched the lives of many. With a career that included being a waitress, working for the Brown County Jobs and Family Services and serving as a custodian for the RULH School District, she exemplified hard work and commitment in all she did. Naomi was known for her loving and caring nature, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was savoring a quiet moment on her front porch with a cup of coffee, delighting in baking and cooking or taking pride in the beauty of her home and yard, she embraced her passions wholeheartedly. A beloved pastime of hers was playing BINGO, which brought her joy and connection with others. Her spirit was that of a true fighter; she faced life’s challenges with resilience and a steadfast determination to care for her family. Naomi’s legacy of love and dedication will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be missed dearly but remembered fondly. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter – Jo Lynn Rison in 2019, one granddaughter – Emily Purcell and one sister – Margaret Franklin.
Ms. McKee is survived by five children – Kathy Purcell, George Purcell, Jr., Charles Rison, Sr. and David Turner all of Ripley, Ohio and Willy Hamilton of Cincinnati, Ohio; eight grandchildren – Robert Wagers of Fayetteville, Ohio, April Purcell of Kentucky, Bridget Purcell of Amelia, Ohio, George Purcell, III and Anna Dawson both of Aberdeen, Ohio, Charles “CJ” Rison, Jr. and Ashley Rison both of Maysville, Kentucky and Tiffanie Rison of Finley, Ohio; twenty great-grandchildren – Noah, Matthew, Rose and Samuel Wagers, Tristen and Paislee Purcell, Logan Vollmar, Carson, Bryson, Aubrey, Autumn and Nevaeh Purcell, Jace, Gabe and Khole Rison, Kensley Morton, Brooklyn Campbell, Piper Branstutter and Gracie and Serenity Doak; two sisters – Mary Ann Curtis and Elizabeth Rison, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. David Benjamin will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Red Oak Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio.
