It was four goals by Western Brown junior Kendall Hanlon that led the Lady Broncos to a 4-2 non-league win on the road at Hillsboro, Sept. 15.

Hanlon’s four-goal performance at Hillsboro brought her to 22 goals in 11 games this season, the Southern Buckeye Athletic/Academic Conference leader in goals. Batavia junior Averie Layman was next among SBAAC goal leaders with 12 goals as of Sept. 15.

Western Brown senior Shayla Bailey, freshman Harper Jones, and sophomore Lydia Seibert recorded one assist each in the win at Hillsboro.

Western Brown senior Naomi Cover was among the SBAAC leaders in assists as of Sept. 15 with 11 assists this season, tied with Layman who also held a total of 11 assists.

Western Brown’s junior goalkeeper, Danica Verdon, was the SBAAC leader in shutouts as of Sept. 15 with six shutouts so far this season.

The Lady Broncos pulled out a narrow 2-1 victory at Goshen on Sept. 11 to up their SBAAC American Division record to 6-0.

Western Brown junior Ella Reed and Seibert scored one goal each in the recent win at Goshen, while Cover had two assists.

The Lady Broncos were one win ahead of the Batavia Lady Bulldogs in SBAAC American Division standings as of Sept. 15 with Batavia at 5-1.

The Lady Broncos were scheduled for three games on the road this week. On Sept. 16 they will face the New Richmond Lions in a SBAAC American Division battle at New Richmond.

They were scheduled to be at Lynchburg-Clay for a non-league game on Sept. 18.

They return home Sept. 23 to host Wilmington for a SBAAC American Division contest.
