By Martha Jacob

The Village of Mt. Orab will be voting for two new village council members, but will see three names on their Nov. 5 ballot, including Brett Beucler, Fred Hansen and Woody Whittington.

The following information about each of the candidates was submitted to the Brown County Press for publication.

Fred Hansen

Fred Hansen is running for a position on the Mt. Orab Village Council. He has been a resident of Mt. Orab for over 32 years and his wife has been a resident for lifetime.

“Just after college, I joined the serves and was active military for five years and then one year in the reserves,” Mr. Hansen said. “In my 40 year career, I have been involved in various positions of supervision and management. I have operated my own business for 13 years before my retirement.”

Mr. Hansen explained that he has served on Mt. Orab Village Council, BPA (Board of Public Affairs) and various other committees for over 21 years.

“I would enjoy continuing my service to this village for all the residents of Mt. Orab and I would appreciate votes on Nov. 5.”

Woody

Whittington

Mr. Whittington brings 15 years of experience to the table as a sitting Mt. Orab Village servant

“I have been a member of Mt. Orab Council for 12 years and a member of the Board of Public Affairs for the village for three years. Serving on council has always been very important to me through the years.

“I recently retired from my regular full-time job this year, which will now allow me to dedicate all my time to this village that I love.”

Mr. Whittington said he has watched and been a part of a growing Mt. Orab and would like to continue watching it grow and prosper even more.

“I believe my sincere love, dedication and my experiences distinguishes me from any other candidates.”

Mr. Whittington is a past Master of the Masonic Lodge, founder of the Mt. Orab Music in the Park Concert Series, vice president of the Mt. Orab Christmas Parade and is dedicated to the Village of Mt. Orab.

“Mt Orab is a great place to live and a great place to raise a family and it’s only getting better,” Whittington said. “I would appreciate any vote I receive from our residents.”

Brett Beucler

Mr. Beucler owns his own business and feels he has learned through the years how to lead others, and makes decisions that are best for others and not himself. He believes he has good work ethics because he grew up on a farm and has been involved in sports in some way, his entire life.

“I have been part of many groups while teaching where I have used my leadership skills and my businesses require me to always be searching for new and better ways of doing things,” Mr. Beucler said, “My time is flexible so I can arrange my schedule to help when needed. Right now, I can’t really say I have a specific issue in the village, buy my goal is to keep improving our community.”

Mr. Beucler feels that he brings his youth and his energy to the table and says he works hard at everything he does. He wants to make an impact on the community and to continue to help others.

“I will bring new and fresh ideas with an energetic and hard working attitude,” Mr. Beucler said. “I’ve grown up around this area from Sardinia. I moved to Mt. Orab four years ago.My wife is Chelsea (Howser) Beucler and I have two kids ages 7 and 9.
