Plans are still developing daily along with more events for the Fayetteville 150 Year (Sesquicentennial) Anniversary Celebration and the 2018 Fireman’s Festival set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 15-17 in the village.
“We always hold our Fireman’s Festival on or near Fathers Day each year,” said Sarah Lott, Fayetteville firefighter and paramedic. “This years event is bigger and better and we’ve partnered with the village in celebration of Fayetteville’s Sesquicentennial. This is going to be a huge event and we’d like to invite everyone in Brown County to come and help us celebrate it.”
The event will open on Friday, June 15 when the Fayetteville Beautification Committee will kick off its famous “East Street Rod Run” Car Show which will run from 5 to 11 p.m. and include a live band from 6 to 10 p.m. The featured entertainment will be “Southern Edge Band” a real favorite for fans.
On Saturday, June 16 the Beautification Committee will continue with the car show from noon to 6 p.m., registration begins at noon, $20 registration fee T-shirts to the first 100.
Then at 3 p.m. on Saturday a special Burnout Competition will be held at 3 p.m. and a poker run will take place.
The fire department will offer a beer booth which will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday which everyone is sure to enjoy.
On Saturday, June 16, from 4 to 10 p.m. a DJ will begin entertaining and visitors can enjoy a dance. More bands will be playing from 6 to 10 p.m.
“Sunday will also be a fun-filled day for everyone,” said Lott, “There will be a parade beginning at 2 p.m. which should be a really nice parade especially for all the kids.
“Great meals will include dinners for only $8.50 will begin at noon and a silent auction will take place at noon until 6 p.m. The ‘Hot Rod & the Fast Lane band will take the stage from 6 to 10 p.m.”
Other events will include the raffle of a Henry Golden Boy Rifle with commemorative engraving 150 years of Fayetteville can be purchased during festival or stop by the fire department to purchase tickets.
Also available will be inflatable slide, obstacle course, moonwalks (bounce house), games including a duck pond, fire plinko sucker pull, and lots of vendors.
