The Village of Mt. Orab’s Economic Development Team has been working to put all the pieces together to move a key industrial site, Tract 416, toward authentication by Jobs Ohio.

Kelly Cole of the Brown County Department of Economic Development said, “In today’s competitive industrial siting market it is important that all preparation boxes are checked to ensure a site is truly ‘shovel ready’ for potential investors.”

The Brown County commissioners were gracious enough to assist in making that last step happen which moves this site closer to authentication.

“The American Rescue Plan Funds have enabled our Board to fund this investment. Although, these funds derived out of tragedy, we are making a conscience effort to utilize them for a positive community impact. The village has made continued efforts to prepare sites for future growth and we wanted to join in partnership because collaboration will aid in overall county success,” said Brown County Commissioner Barry Woodruff.

Through their support, the county will be provided funding from the ARPA program in the amount of $249,500.

Mt. Orab Mayor Joe Howser explained how this will allow for an extension of a forced sewer main with enough volume to handle discharge from any industrial facility that may land on this site.

Howser spoke of how grateful he was for this relationship and the Brown County commissioners’ pledge of support.
