A man serving time for a Brown County murder was brought back to Georgetown from prison to face child rape charges.
Jimmie Fite was indicted on first degree felony Rape and third degree felony Gross Sexual Imposition charges last August for alleged sexual activity with a victim under ten years of age.
He pleaded guilty to the Rape charge on January 2 and was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison by Common Pleas Judge Scott Gusweiler.
The alleged activity took place from May of 2004 until Fite’s arrest on murder charges in January of 2007. It was reported to authorities in 2018.
Fite pleaded guilty to killing Rick White in Georgetown in April of 2008 just as his trial was about to begin. According to investigators, White had been dating Fite’s estranged wife. White was found dead in Amy Fite’s driveway in November of 2006.
Fite is serving a sentence of 15 years to life in prison for the murder. His first parole hearing was scheduled for December of 2021, but with the new guilty plea, he will not be eligible for parole until 2044. Fite will turn 48 years old next week, meaning that he will be 73 years old before being eligible for parole.
“One of the things that the parole board will consider when they look at him will be the fact that he has pleaded guilty twice to two separate offenses that carry life sentences. We belive that this will greatly reduce any chance at parole that he may have,” said Brown County Prosecutor Zac Corbin.
