Another search of the Ohio River near Aberdeen was conducted on July 10, with another vehicle found submerged in the water.

Aberdeen Police Chief David Benjamin reported that a Ford Ranger was pulled from the water and that it had been in the water for some time.

We are still currently investigating but it appears to not be of a serious nature,” Benjamin said.

The search was conducted by Ohio Task Force 1, the same group that pulled two vehicles from the river on June 12. OTF 1 is part of the Ohio Department of Public Safety and is based in Dayton.

“At this time Task Force 1 does not believe there are any other vehicles in our area and we have concluded our search,” Benjamin said.

The body of what is believed to be 85 year old Jesse Flaugher was found inside a vehicle in the area last month. Flaugher had been reported missing from the Brookeville, Ohio area in 2006,

His body was taken to the Montgomery County Coroner’s office, but Benjamin said that the office was unable to make a positive DNA identification.

“The Brown County Coroner has forwarded DNA samples and dental remains to (Ohio) BCI and expect results to come back some time this week,” Benjamin said,

He added that the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Maysville Police Department, Aberdeen Life Squad Coast Guard auxiliary and Aberdeen Police Department also took part in the search.

“We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and assistance with a special thanks to Meadows Towing for donating their time and equipment, Rockin Robins for donating lunch, and The Aberdeen Fire and Squad for donating lunch and drinks,” Benjamin said.
