Melissa A. Bolender, age 64, of Hamersville, Ohio died Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at her residence. She was a homemaker who lived every day for her family loving them unconditionally, a former surgical tech for the Brown County General Hospital in Georgetown, Ohio and a volunteer for the Hamerville Life Squad for many years. Missy was very active with the Brown County Jr. Fair serving as superintendent for the Goat Department and 4-H Advisor for the Ripley Day Hill Dirt Kickers 4-H Club. She was born August 20, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of the late Wayne and Patricia (Waite) Long. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister – Jennifer Long and one brother – Anthony Long.
Mrs. Bolender is survived by her husband of 45 years – Rolla “Jay” Bolender, Jr. whom she married June 6, 1978; four children – Jamie Bolender and wife Brittany of Hamersville, Ohio; Courtney Lipps and husband Damon of Georgetown, Ohio; Carrie Bolender and fiancé Matthew Davenport of Hamersville, Ohio and Katie Bailey and husband Sean of Hamersville, Ohio; eight grandchildren – Dakota, Easton and Addison Bolender, Connor and Emma Casey, Jaycob Lipps and Noah and Jennifer Bailey; one sister – Kimberly Long and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
